Leslie Jordan, the actor and comedian known for playing Beverly Leslie on the sitcom Will & Grace, as well as for his roles in American Horror Story and Call Me Kat, died Monday at the age of 67.
While his acting career spanned more than 30 years, Jordan began reaching new audiences during the pandemic with his humor and Southern accent. He posted for 11 million followers across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok about how he was dealing with social change and included videos of him dancing, singing and telling stories.
Thousands of people expressed their condolences on Monday and recounted how Jordan lifted their spirits over the past two years.
These are some of the most moving and joyful moments of his.
He bought his first condo at 67
Jordan bought his first condo at age 67 and celebrated with his own rendition of the famous theme song from the sitcom “The Jeffersons.” “Moving east to a luxury apartment in the sky,” he sang. “Moving to the east side, I finally got a piece of the pie.”
He shared some of his most outstanding memories.
In a video, Jordan, who was a gay man, talks about how when he was a kid, his dad took him to his first football game and started explaining how it works, to which Jordan replied, “But when do the majorettes come out? “.
Jordan liked to twirl the cane and practiced his moves in the front yard, much to the annoyance of his father, who begged him to take the routine inside of him.
“He loved me. He just didn’t know what to do with me,” Jordan said as he demonstrated baton twirling. “But he would come home from work and I was in the front yard. He was with all his friends from the military.”
The next line, “Dad, watch me spin” has become a meme staple and was even made into a song.
He gave his impressions of the latest songs.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande released their collaboration “Rain on Me” in 2020, in which Jordan posted a video of him banging his head on the record, saying, “I think I read about this in the Bible, the book of Revelations. I think it’s means it’s the end of the world or something, it makes me want to dance”.
From the Cardi B and Megan the Stallion collaboration “WAP,” he didn’t delve into the song due to the explicit lyrics, but admired the effort nonetheless.
“I can’t believe it. That’s just shocking,” she said. “Well, I don’t judge, to each his own. I guess every trash can has a lid.”
He showed some of his hobbies
Jordan shared with his followers that they prescribe Ambien to help him sleep, but if that doesn’t work, he keeps journaling.
He opens his notebook to show his handwriting and the various stickers he uses to decorate the pages, including cats, rabbits, and flowers.

“I think I fell out of the womb and landed on my mother’s high heels,” she said. “I just like pretty things. I think that’s why homosexuals were put on this earth, just to make pretty things.”
There are also several videos on Instagram of Jordan, a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, performing country songs with artists like Danny Myrick, Travis Howard and the Osborne Brothers. He debuted his first album, “Company’s Comin'”, which is gospel, in 2021.
